Dave Muhlbeier is a Risk Management Advisor with Leavitt Group Insurance of Vernal and is experienced in the development, implementation, and compliance of HSE, security, and DOT policies. He has worked with over-dimensional transportation, industrial service, and construction within the oil, gas, and renewable energy industries. This includes onsite oil field, petrol-chemical refinery, and wind farm project work.
Recently, Dave has worked as a director, managing risk with safety for policy driven programs. He has developed and implemented programs that brought positive increases in production and safety. His focus has been injury investigation, return-to-work, and mitigation with claims that significantly reduce OSHA-TRIR and WCB-EMR metrics.
Prior to his current role, Dave worked as a deputy sheriff and federal multi-jurisdictional task force detective. He also has experience as a coroner involving decedent/homicide investigations and mechanism of injury. As a member of the Drug Enforcement Agency clandestine laboratory enforcement team, he was responsible for chemical, biological, and nuclear hazardous material incidents. Dave has worked in many areas of emergency scene management such as Homeland Security, National Incident Management, and Disaster and Emergency Services. This knowledge lends itself to the preparation for scene management of disasters, emergencies, and their investigations.
